Samurai Costume
There is an old saying - "The cost of peace is war". Don't ask me who said that. For all I know it could have been me!
The point to be noted here is that peace is usually an outcome of a war which has been won decisively by one side. The loosing side is so weakened that it no longer has the capability to wage war and hence agrees to peace.
How long will the peace last? Well this depends on how the winner behaves after the war. Like the dialogue at the end of the movie - Matrix revolutions - The Oracle says - "As long as it can last"
So coming to the point, the winner in any war is the one who has definite technological advantages. From the costume point of view, the party that has capabilities that provide it the definite advantage is the winner. Not just an advantage but in case required, a devastating demonstration of that advantage - "The Shock and Awe". An example could be the Japanese Samurai. The samurais were fearless, swift and skilled warriors.
Let us define the advantages that would be required from a costume that the perfect warrior will require, (Of course the underlying assumption is that the warrior is equally fit both mentally and physically).
Firstly the costume should be one which the warrior can wear with ease and without any strain on his body - Not too heavy, or stuffy, or restrictive etc. It should be like a second skin and the warrior should feel natural in it. Ideally, a self contained costume so that the warrior is to a large extent no longer dependent on air from the outside.
Secondly the costume should provide the warrior with the ability to detect and identify the position or co ordinates of the enemy. Heat gauges, infra red detectors, movement detectors could be some.
Of course this is applicable to the modern warrior and may not be a valid point as far as the previous stone and sword warrior is concerned.
If there is a possibility to gauge the strength of the enemy and his / her weapons that would be an added advantage. Remember the Dragonball -Z episodes?
Thirdly, the ability to camouflage or blend with the background when required, in other words some jamming techniques to avoid detection can confer some "wow" advantages. The early warriors would probably have used some blinding powder to stun their enemies.
Next is the stealth attack - The all out advantage wherein you can strike an enemy before they get aware of the attack.
Next would be the multi compartment costume - i.e. the ability of the costume to be able to accommodate a variety of weapons, medicines, sprays etc. all these will obviously need to be within easy and fast reach. The costume should have a tracking mechanism which monitors the status of each weapon.
Finally there is one very important requirement, the ability of the costume to communicate with a central command via pictures / code updating the current status of the warrior, the enemy and of course the costume.
